A Tribute to Mahatma

Hyderabad based artist Susheel Kumar Gotla was always curious to know more about Mahatma Gandhi. He learned about Mahatma during his childhood days and inspired by Mahatma after reading Gandhi’s Autobiography. Susheel started drawing and painting Gandhi in his imaginary illustrations in an abstract way, mostly in modern contemporary style.The artist applied to join an International fellowship program on Peace and Nonviolence organised jointly by Mahatma Gandhi Mission University Aurangabad,Sabarmati Ashram, Sevagram Ashram and Gujarat Vidyapeeth. He also came to know about the fact that Mahatma Gandhi founded Sevagram Ashram in Wardha Maharashtra. Finally susheel was awarded with International fellowship program on peace and non violence from Sevagram Ashram in collaboration with MGM University Aurangabad, Gujarat Vidyapeeth and Sabarmati Ashram Ahmedabad Gujarat. After obtaining fellowship award Susheel inspired by visiting Sevagram Ashram, and Sabarmati Ashram and decided to paint Mahatma Gandhi portraits in best possible way.

About Me

Born in the historical city of Hyderabad in the state of Telangana a southern state of India, Susheel Kumar Gotla did his graduation in Public administration and Political science Hyderabad later he obtained his Certificate in fine arts from Jawaharlal Nehru University of fine arts in Hyderabad. Susheel’s unclear drawings are his stronghold obsessively crafted with emotions and rigour, and create surfaces that disturb his audience and parallerally creates a strong impression that last forever, susheel thoroughly cherish the divine beauty of nature and creation,
His paintings comprise of deep earthly tones of various composition of colours.
Susheel is also fascinated by historic abandoned edifices and forts. His paintings are a scenic recreation of iconic places in history, artist likes to work with various mediums including, acrylics, and watercolours, acrylics on canvas is his most preferred medium for most of his paintings

Susheel is also into sculpting his passion for sculpting started when he was around eight year’s old his adroitnessis in figurative desktop sculpture which he always cherish, to endure the medium he use cement and mixed media in most of his works

Susheel’s, sculptural pursuits are basically non provocative and simple yet expressive and loaded with various sensibilities with the help of multiple mediums he enjoys cement as his weaponry medium for sculpting, Susheel’s strong point as a sculptor is his command over his medium of choice the cement, occasionally He experiments with different mediums and open for new experiments as well. He served in numerous schools in the field of sports development and infrastructure, at present Susheel is working with a International School in the State of Telangana as a Sports director and administrative head.
